The Three Princesses
In a Fairyland named Aurora Kingdom, lived a king named Sultan Malim Di Awan. The king ruled the Fairyland with his beloved queen named Puteri Mega Bestari. They had three princesses. The eldest princess was name Puteri Suria Pagi, the second was named Puteri Purnama Sari and the youngest princess was named Puteri Cahaya Bintang. The princesses were so beautiful and kind hearted. They lived happily in the Fairyland without any war and the place was very peace and harmony.
The three princesses loved to come down to the earth as there was a beautiful pond on the earth. The pond was in the forest where no one human live there. The water was so clean and fresh. The three princesses will go down to the earth with their flying robes. Their parents, Sultan Malim Di Awan and Puteri Mega Bestari always allowed them to go there to bath but they must return home before dusk.
One day, the second princess, Puteri Purnama Sari wanted to go bath at the pond. So, she asked the other princesses about that.
“It is a quite long time we didn’t go to the earth and play at the pool. Let’s go there this evening. I want to feel the clean and fresh water. Do you agree with me?” asked Puteri Purnama Sari.
It sounds interesting! I want to go too”, said the youngest princess, Puteri Cahaya Bintang.
“Yes, I agree with you but we must ask father first,”said the eldest princess, Puteri Suria Pagi.
“Why not you go and ask father,” said Puteri Purnama Sari to Puteri Suria Pagi.
“I will try but you must promise to follow and help me. If I go alone I will not to ask the permission,” replied Puteri Suria Pagi.
So, all the princesses walked together to meet the king. They wanted to ask the permission to go down to the earth and played at the pond. The first princess asked the permission while the others try to back up her.
“Father, you look so handsome today,” said her while the others just nodded their heads.
“I think you want something from me, that’s why you say nicely to me. What do you want my princesses,” said the king.
“Actually we want to ask permission from you. Do you allow us to go to the earth and bath at the pond that we always go?” asked the eldest princess.
Please dad. We want to go there. There is quite a long time we do not go there. Please…,” said the second and the youngest princesses.
“I will allow you to go there but you must promise me that you will return early. You must return home before dusk. Understand?” said the king.
“Yes, we promise. Thanks dad. We love you very much,” said the three princesses.
“Yes, we promise. Thanks dad. We love you very much,” said the three princesses.
So, the three princesses descended to the earth by using their wing robes. When they reached at the pond, their removed their robes and hung them on the branch of a tree. They played happily in the pond.
At the same time, a young prince named Putera Panji Alam who was hunting in the same place saw the three princesses in the pond. He was attracted to the third princess that was Puteri Cahaya Bintang. So, he stole the third princess’s robe that was pink in colour and hid it. When the princesses wanted to go home they noticed that one of the robes was lost. They searched the robe but they failed to find it. The youngest pprincesses started to cry. So, the eldest and the second princesses went home to report the incident to their father while the youngest princess waited at the pond alone. They promised to come again.
By using his power, the prince changed into an old fisherman. Then he walked toward Puteri Cahaya Bintang.
“Who are you and why are you crying?” asked the old fisherman. Puteri Cahaya Bintang told everything what had happened.
“What a sad story! You can’t stay here alone. Please, follow me to Nenek Kebayan’s house,” said the fisherman.
“Sorry, I can’t go there. I already promised to my sisters to wait for them here. They will come back to help me” replied the princess.
“Don’t worry. They will manage to find you at the house. It is not too far from here. Please, come with me. This place is not suitable for you to stay alone. It is quite dangerous,” said the fisherman.
The princess agreed to follow the fisherman to go to Nenek Kebayan’s house. The next morning, the princess’s family and the guards came to the earth to find Puteri Cahaya Bintang. They searched the princess but they failed. So, they returned again to the Fairyland sadly.
A few days later, Putera Panji Alam came to Nenek Kebayan’s house. He did not change himself as the fisherman anymore. He introduced himself to Nenek Kebayan. He pretended to not know what had happened and asked Nenek Kebayan about the princess. Nenek Kebayan told everything about the sad story about Puteri Cahaya Bintang.
Puteri CahayaBintang met Putera Panji Alam. They smiled to each other. The princess also attracted to the prince. A week later, a delegation came from the palace to Nenek Kebayan’s house. The princess and the prince got married. They lived happily ever after.
