Once upon a time, there lived a clever mousedeer in a forest. The mousedeer named Si Mika. One day, Si Mika felt very hungry and wanted to find food for it.

“Oh, I am so hungry. I don’t know where to find food”, said Si Mika to itself.



So, it walked alone to find the food. It already walked for almost two hours but it did not find any food. She rested for a while under a big shady tree. While sitting under the tree, the mousedeer thought how to find the food. Suddenly, it got an idea.



“I think I should go to the farm. Of course the place got a lot of food. i must go now,” said Si Mika happily.



So, it continued its walking to the farm. Near the forest it stayed, it was a farm. The farm was belonging to Pak Mail. Pak Mail had a big farm. In his farm, he planted a lot of fruits and vegetables such as carrot, cabbage, watermelon and also corn. The plants were fresh and delicious to be eaten.



So, Si Mika walked to Pak Mail’s farm. When it arrived at the farm, it felt so excited to see a lot of food. It could not stand anymore as it was so hungry. It did not eat anything for one day.



“Wow, there is a lot of food here. I want to eat everything here,” said Si Mika happily.



Si Mika quickly ran to the plants to eat some fruits. As it almost near to the corn plant, unluckily, it stepped on a trap. . It legs was caught and it hang up at the end of the rope. Si Mika tried to escape itself but it did not work. The more it struggled the tighter the grip of the rope was around its leg. So, Si Mika started to think how to escape from the trap.



“What should I do now? I hope the farmer will not come here”, said Si Mika in a sorrow voice.



Suddenly, it saw Pak Mail walked near to the farm. It was so scared and did not know what to do. The rope was too tight and it could not move its leg. Luckily, the idea came. Si Mika thought that it must pretend to be dead. So, the farmer will not eat the dead animal. It closed his eyes and held its breath.



When Pak Mail looked at the hanging mousedeer, he felt so happy. He thought himself that he could eat mousedeer’s flesh. So, he quickly walked to the mousedeer. He touched the mousedeer but he was so sad when he noticed the mousedeer already died.



“Oh no! It already died. I cannot taste its flesh today,” said Pak Mail sadly.

So, as the mousedeer already died, Pak Mail lifted it, untied the not on its leg and threw it in the bush. The mousedeer was s happy and he quickly ran into the jungle. While running, Si Mika said something to Pak Mail.



“You are so stupid. You must think wisely before do anything. You should check either I am die or not properly. You also must be careful for next time,”said Si Mika to Pak Mail.

Pak Mail was so shocked about what happen. He wanted to chase Si Mika but he could not do anything as Si Mika ran quickly and disappeared in the forest. Pak Mail was so regret and angry to himself for his careless.
